What is keyword research? What is a good keyword ? If you always spend time in market research, you will always meet the phrase keyword research. Consequently, the basic question is: what is a good keyword? In order to answer this question, read below information.

1. Related keyword following

I just talked to my friends from Skype room this morning, they are wondering about a good keyword. I my self have tracked more than 4000 keywords and ¼ of them are new keywords.

Basically, find for valuable related keywords. For example, users want to buy tea, instead of typing “tea” by itself, try High quality tea or, Tea in Hanoi, etc. Searchers should change from wide keyword to narrow keyword so that it is easier for you. The tools like Google keyword tools or Google insight can help you change your keyword while searching.

2. Searching quantity

One of the most popular mistakes in searching is to find the keyword that have high search. I have been involved in this mistake.

With the keywords with 200.000 or 2.000.000 searches, you should check if you split them out, they contains stop words that don’t relate to your targets. Some stop words such as free, top, best, we, our, you are invaluable. Focus on longtail keywords and related keywords in order to have better niche.

It is really happy to have high searches but focusing on micro niche will bring money quickly. Don’t waste your time in big site with professional staff.

3. Targets

I really love the quote form SEOMoz: “Don’t always find visitors for your site, but what kind of visitors?

For example: if you are the owners of a soup restaurant in Hanoi, you keyword is Soup restaurant in Hanoi, it will attract the traffic by itself but not a lot of people spend their gold time to come to your soup restaurant. Instead of “soup restaurant in Hanoi, you can use Soup restaurant ThanhXuan Hanoi” because it targets to the customers who live in ThanhXuan district.

4. Domain:

There is no necessary for domain even though it is more professional. Blogspot seems to be the fastest choice because of lack of management while there are hundreds of them.

Overviews:

  • Focus on  longtail keywords from 2 to 4 words
  • Don’t need to much search, 3000 to 5000 should be good depending on the target
  • Perfect targets
  • Ignore Domain
  • Find the keyword that customers will click, not just visit.
  • 5 minutes for 1 keyword is enough. 4000 visitors for AdSense
