Nexus 5 running Android 4.4 KitKat  when it is released in October. We’ve been saying it for weeks now, and here’s the evidence: the LG-built Nexus 5 will indeed be running Android 4.4 KitKat when it is released in October. You may remember our post recently that showed the new status bar and icons we’ll see in Android 4.4 KitKat, but here’s the first time we’ve seen it on the Nexus 5. Log files for the new device have also appeared, and we’ve got them for you below in the picture gallery. This particular Nexus 5 is running on the T-Mobile network.

The screenshot isn’t particularly exciting to look at but it does tell us a few things if you know what to look for. The same Key Lime Pie debug icon appears as the one seen in the Korean keyboard screenshot in the Play Store (which was promptly pulled by Google). Remember, KitKat was codenamed Key Lime Pie right up until the official KitKat announcement and many development devices obviously haven’t changed icons yet. Who knows, we may even see the KLP icon in the official version.

You can also see the same light gray default status bar and the build number is listed in the log files as KRS74H, indicating a September 13th build date. There’s a new Bluetooth icon sitting on top of the Google Authenticator icon which may mean some changes to security features like passwords and lock screen access when connected to another device via Bluetooth. Qi charging is indeed supported, the screen and resolution checks out, and everything else thus far reported looks to be confirmed by the log files as well. The originator of the screenshot and log file is the website myce.com, who also claim to have found evidence of an SD card…
