CraftGuide
Ever wanted to find out what you could do with your seemingly useless materials? Ever forgotten how to craft something intricate in Minecraft? This mod is for you.
It’s very simple to use. Follow this recipe to create a Crafting Guide.
Right click the Crafting Guide, and voila! Every single recipe in Minecraft. With handy, detailed explanations as to what each item or block can do! The bottom of the list has vanilla Minecraft furnace recipes.
You can scale the window to suit your needs. The immense list is easily navigable with the scroll bar, shift and the scroll bar, arrow keys, page up/down, home, or the buttons in the window! Also, you can search for specific items or blocks if you are trying to figure out a recipe or if you need a use for an item.
Items that show a * in the top corner mean that any variation of that item will be accepted. For example, wool color or wood type can easily be switched around sometimes. Items with a small F in the top left corner mean that they are in the Forge ore dictionary. This means that certain mods can use items like copper and tin in their recipes, while still accepting any defined interchangeable resources from different mods. Pretty useful, huh?
The CraftGuide mod is a popular mod that provides players with an in-game recipe book, making it easier to craft items in Minecraft. Here are some key comparisons between CraftGuide and other similar mods:
1. Not Enough Items (NEI): NEI is another widely used mod that includes a recipe book feature similar to CraftGuide. However, NEI provides additional features such as item spawning, enchanting, and potion making, making it more versatile than CraftGuide.
2. Just Enough Items (JEI): JEI is a newer mod that functions similarly to NEI and CraftGuide. It offers an in-game recipe book and also includes functionalities such as item search, item tooltips, and integration with various other mods. JEI is often preferred by players for its updated features and ease of use.
3. Recipe Book: Minecraft introduced an official Recipe Book feature in version 1.12, which functions almost identically to mods like CraftGuide, NEI, and JEI. The Recipe Book can be accessed in-game and provides players with a comprehensive list of crafting recipes. While it may lack some advanced functionalities present in mods, it eliminates the need for additional mods to access a recipe book.
4. CraftTweaker: CraftTweaker is a mod that allows players to customize crafting recipes in Minecraft. Unlike CraftGuide or other mods mentioned above, CraftTweaker is more focused on modifying and scripting recipes rather than providing a recipe book.
Overall, CraftGuide is a straightforward and lightweight mod that focuses solely on providing an in-game recipe book. While it lacks some advanced features found in other mods like NEI and JEI, its simplicity and ease of use make it a popular choice among players.
