Preview version of the Ubuntu operating system for smartphones for developers (Ubuntu Touch Developer Preview) will be officially announced on 21/2 with open source code and all the necessary tools to try experiments.
According to Engadget, the developer owns two devices Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 4 will be able to download and run Ubuntu on their smartphone.
Published version of events is designed to help developers and Ubuntu fans learn about the new smartphone platform, and start building software for it, whether it is the core function or warehouse third-party applications.
Ubuntu phone prototype will be out next October, but obviously Canonical is trying to make sure the rich will have an app store before the device launches.
