The Z1, much like its predecessors, is touted as water resistant and has been prominently showcased as such in many teaser media from Sony. As with everything that is showcased as being water resistant, it is important to remember that water resistance is not the same as waterproof and precautions should still be taken in case your device does take a plunge. Reports from the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active just goes to showcase some issues we’ve been seeing.
As well, the Xperia Blog has published an official press release of the Sony Z1 in advance of the IFA. In the press release, the actual technical specs have been announced and we can see that the Xperia Z1 will have a 5-inch touch screen with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
