The Verizon sticker placed on the device instead of the HTC logo confirms that this provider will have it in stock, even though the HTC’s new phone has yet to be officially announced. This news follows the rumors that AT&T and Sprint would also be carrying the One Max. With the Christmas season coming up in a few months, perhaps these mobile providers are poised to have this go on sale then to take advantage of the season of giving.
The Verizon employee also confirmed the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner which we had been wondering about in the past few weeks. Hopefully HTC won’t be ridiculed as much as Apple has been over their new fingerprint gimmick, which can apparently be ‘hacked’ with many different body parts and by-passed quite easily by pressing several buttons.
Another thing that many HTC fans could be quite excited about is the fact that the back will be removable, as opposed the the One’s sealed-shut unibody. Other than that, it still has the aluminium chassis that many prefer over other materials and stylish design that fans have come to love.
In addition to the US leaks above, the Chinese tech website ePrice posted some rather clear and informative pictures, showing the HTC One Max next to the Galaxy Note 3 (151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3mm) where they have quite similar dimensions, though the HTC device is longer.
Further rumors have been uttered about a release date for the device, either October 15th or 17th, which means that it won’t be long before HTC makes their the official announcement, but when the device will come to individual carriers is another story all together.
Here is a review of the presumed tech specs so far:
